Materials

White paper towels, napkins or tissue paper Muffin tin of water with food color added,Eyedroppers different color in each tin

Instructions

1. Cover your workspace very well because food color is permanent.

2. Children will fold the white paper towel or other paper and drop on the colors with the eyedroppers.

3. Colors will be observed to move, especially on the paper towel. Some colors will combine to make a new color.

4. Write names with a ballpoint pen, because markers will bleed on the paper.

5. Open very carefully! When dry, these pretty papers can be used for wrapping packages!Hint: When using tissue paper, help the child fold it as small as possible and do not attempt to completely unfold the tissue until it is dry.More to doMore science: Encourage the children to watch the color move up the eyedropper. This will use eye muscles to track the water movement. Children will learn to coordinate their fingers with the filling and emptying of the dropper with air and colored water (fine motor functions), and to concentrate while placing the colors where they desire (eye/hand coordination).
