Instructions

1. "Twister" is a fun game for all ages, but little children don't always have the
balance and coordination to play the traditional way, so here is a way for
three-year-olds to play.
Note: No more than four children can play at once, so you may want to set
this game up as one of several stations so children not playing Twister have
another activity to go to.
2. Ask a child to stand on each side of the Twister mat. (You can have a fifth
child do the spinning if you'd like.) Give each child two stuffed animals. They
can hold them or place them on the floor near their feet.
3. On the game board, instead of left foot, right foot, left hand, and right hand,
use these four divisions: hand, foot, bear, and dog (or whatever the animals
are if you don't have enough of the same animals, go by color, or tie a
colored ribbon around the stuffed animals' necks to designate).
4. Give the spinner a spin! You will come up with choices such as "Hand on
red," or "Bear on green." As in the regular game, the object of the game is to
try to maintain your position. In other words, if you get "dog on blue" and
your foot is on red, keep it there!
More to do
Art: Put blue, red, green, and yellow paint in the Art Station. Ask the children if
they can make a line of four colored circles like the game board.
Dramatic Play: Leave the game board in the dramatic play area for the children
to use with the dolls and stuffed animals on their own.
