Instructions:

1. Teach the children the words to the following rap:
Shane, Shane, is his name,
Going home is his game,
This is his front,
This is his back,
Give us a bow,
And we’ll give you a clap.
2. Replace “Shane” with each child’s name.
3. Ask each child in turn to come forward, place both hands on the front of his
body, then both hands on the back of his body. Then, while everyone claps,
encourage him to bow by placing one hand in front and one hand in back
and bowing at the waist.
More to do
Hold up a card with the child’s name on it for name recognition. Change words
to fit the area they are transitioning to lunch, playground, buses, gym, and so
on.
