Salt

Pepper

Instructions

1. Pour the salt and pepper into a mound in the middle of a table.

2. Run the comb through your hair and then ask the children what they think will happen when you run the comb across the mound of salt and pepper.

3. Run the comb through your hair twice more and then run it across the salt and pepper.

4. The salt and pepper will separate because the comb becomes a static conductor and the pepper has magnetic elements in it.
