Instructions

1. Try the following when children are waiting for the next activity.
2. Sit in a group and begin a pattern of patting legs and clapping hands
together. For example, clap, clap, pat, clap, clap, pat...
3. As soon as the children figure out the pattern, they join in, continuing until
the entire group can do the pattern.
4. If there is still time, stop the first pattern and begin another. Continue in this
fashion.
5. Let children take turns doing a pattern and having other children copy it.
