Two trays of food: one tray of healthy food such as an apple, orange, banana, potato, squash, nuts, onion, carrot; and one tray of unhealthy food such as candy, bubble gum, cupcake, sugar cube, lollipop, marshmallows

Two empty trays

Two signs, one with a Happy Face and one with a Sad Face

Instructions

1. Allow children to observe trays of food.

2. Discuss which foods are healthy and unhealthy and why.

3. Let the children sort the foods into healthy and unhealthy categories and place them on the empty trays under the appropriate signs.
