Instructions

1. Ask the children to sit in a circle.

2. The children put one of each of their shoes in the middle of the circle.

3. Explain to the children that they will sort the shoes by color, style, and type of shoe.

4. Several children at a time sort the shoes into piles.

5. After they are done sorting, they tell how the shoes in each pile are alike.

6. To make this activity more difficult, the children can put both of their shoes into the pile.
