What to do

1. Cut out two eyeholes in each of the paper bags.

2. Paint four bags gray and four yellow.

3. Trace and cut out huge ears (a large circle cut in half works well), then cut out four elephant trunks from the extra paper bags. Paint the ears and trunks gray and glue them to the gray bags to make elephants.

4. Cut out narrow strips from yellow and brown paper and glue them around the top portion of the yellow bags to make lions' manes.

5. Cut a hole in the middle of each paper plate (adult only). Paint the plates black and let them dry. Attach them to a broomstick to make "strong man's" weights.

6. Unevenly glue five paper plates or cups on the top of each cane for jugglers.

7. Tear a few streamers and attach them to a hula-hoop to represent fire for the lions to walk through.

8. Select clothes from the dress-up corner for clowns.

9. Set up a balance beam for tightrope walkers. Use an open umbrella for balance.

10. Ask the children which part they would like to perform. Rehearsing routines once is sufficient.
