What to do

1. Talk about weather conditions with the children. How does weather affect people and plants?

2. Demonstrate the rhyme play below. Encourage the children to do the motions with you.

Summer sky means summer sun (reach up)
And it rises very high. (reach up on tiptoes)
When people want to look around (look from side to side)
They have to shade their eyes. (hand shades eyes)
But when a seed far in the ground (squat down)
Hears its warm invite (cup hand to ear to "listen")
It tries and tries to climb right out (hand over hand "climb" to stand)
So its leaves can greet the light. (wave hello)
