Instructions

1. Draw eight wavy legs on each sheet of green construction paper or give the
children a pattern to trace. Ask the children to cut them out.
2. Draw oval eyeballs on the white paper for the children to cut out. Encourage
them to use crayons to color the eyes.
3. Demonstrate how to glue eight legs onto a piece of large blue paper with the
tips spreading out to the ends of the paper.
4. Give each child one half of a plastic egg. Encourage the children to glue eyes
onto their eggs.
5. Show the children how to glue their eggs onto the center of the blue paper
over the legs, so that the legs appear to come out of the eggs.
More to do
Math: Ask the children to count how many legs an octopus has.
Movement: Cut out large paper legs and tape them to the children's sides.
Encourage them to crawl and move around the floor as if they were an octopus.
