Materials

Small stones and sticks

Paper plates

Glue (in small squeeze bottles)

Instructions

1. Help the children write their names on the back of the plates.
2. Encourage the children to first use "glue dots" to create a pattern on the plate and then decorate
the plate with sticks and stones by pressing them into the glue dots.
3. Allow the creations plenty of time to dry.

More art: Put out a large piece of poster board. Invite a group of children to work together to create
a mosaic of sticks and stones on the poster board.
Field trip: Take a nature walk to collect sticks and stones.
