Instructions

1. The goal of this activity is for the children to create and recall as many
movements and sounds as possible.
2. Clear a space so the children can stand in a circle and have enough room to
avoid tripping or bumping into objects.
3. Play upbeat background music that will not compete with the children's
vocal level. Music can give the children a feeling of rhythm or
encouragement to create more fun and outgoing movements or vocal
sounds.
4. As children stand in a circle, the first child does something physical twice
(with or without vocals). All movements and vocals should be done twice so
that they are clear to all the participants.
5. The second child repeats the first child's movement and adds his own
movement. The third child repeats the first child's movement and the second
child's movement and then adds his own movement.
6. This continues until someone fails to repeat all the movements in order
correctly. Then the game starts over again.
7. This exercise can be enhanced by having a theme for the game. For example,
each child must create an animal movement with or without sound. The
other children guess what animal the child is imitating. The next child in the
circle repeats the previous animal movement and then acts out his own. The
game continues until someone forgets the previous animal. Then it starts
over again.
