Instructions

1. After setting up a dramatic play area as a doctor's examination room, arrange
furniture in an area next to it to resemble a waiting room. Set up a
receptionist area using a desk, chair, phone, keyboard, notepad, and
clipboard.
2. Have a group discussion with the children about going to the doctor. Ask
them what happens before they can see the doctor. Talk about signing in,
parents giving the receptionist an insurance card, reading magazines, and so
on.
3. Encourage the children to sign in when they come for an appointment with
the doctor.
4. Facilitate dramatic play in this area.
