Instructions

Part One (Teacher Preparation)
1. Cut different colors of construction
paper into 6" x 6" squares. Make about
8 to 10 squares.
2. Cut out 10 to 15 pictures of babies from
ads and articles in magazines. Try to
find large close-ups of faces and
different expressions and emotions.
3. Glue the pictures onto the fronts and backs of the
construction paper pages.
4. Place pages in desired order and print "Baby
Faces" on the front page.
5. Cover the pages with clear contact paper. For
each page, cut a piece of contact paper twice
as wide as the page and about 1/2 " longer on
each side. Fold the sticky side of the contact
paper over both sides of the construction paper
page and overlap the contact paper to seal it around
the edges. Cut a 1/2 " rounded border around each page,
making each finished page approximately the same shape and size.
6. Punch two holes on the left side of each page and tie the pages
together with a ribbon or piece of yarn.
Part Two (Children's Activity)
1. As you look through the book with a baby, talk about the parts of
the face. You can talk about what the babies' expressions might mean
and copy each expression on your own face. The baby might even
do it himself!
