Instructions

1. On a nice day, take the children outside to practice writing numerals anddrawing shapes.

2. Demonstrate how to use the water and a brush to make a numeral.Demonstrate how to draw a circle with the sidewalk chalk and then paintover it with a brush and water. The children love watching the numeralsdisappear!Note: Some of the children in your class may be more independent thanothers. Young children may just put the chalk in the water and it will dissolve. Inthese situations it would be better to draw shapes on the sidewalk and just havethe water and the brushes available for the children.
