Pictures of the outer ear and inner ear, optional
Crepe paper streamers in spring colors10 small pebbles, marbles, etc. per child
Two 6 1/2 (17 cm) heavy-weight paper plates per child
Markers
White glue
Optional: two 4" square pieces of paper per child
Instructions
1. If possible, show a picture of the outer ear and the inner ear, and explain how we hear.
2. Cut streamers 8" (20 cm) long and 1/2 " (13 mm) wide. You will need eight per shaker.
3. Place the 10 small objects on a plate, and glue the streamers around the edge of the plate.
4. Put glue on the outer rim of the plate, then put the other plate over the top so the edges meet.
5. Decorate the centers and edges of the plates with markers.
6. Use shakers as rhythm band instruments. March around the room.More to doGames: Lay out four or five animal beanbags.
