Instructions
1. The group sits in a circle and sings the "Hello Song."
The Hello Song (Tune: "Skip to My Lou")
Hello everybody, yes indeed.
Hello everybody, yes indeed.
Hello everybody, yes indeed.
Sing, children sing.
2. Encourage the children to tap out the beat of the music on their legs.
3. Substitute a child's name for "everybody" and change the last line of the song
to "How are you?" For example, "Hello to Billy, how are you?" The child can
state something simple such as, "Good" or "Fine," or a more complex feeling
such as, "I am happy."
4. Change the song throughout the year, if desired. For example, "What's your
favorite color?" "What do you like to do?" Encourage the children to choose
their first activities of the day. "What are you going to do?"
