Instructions

1. As you tell the following story to the children, use shoelaces to demonstrate
each step.
Once upon a time there was a little rabbit that was very sad. He cried and
cried because his ears were so long that every time he tried to hop, he
tripped on them. One day a fairy landed on the bunny's head. She carefully
lifted the bunny's ears and crossed one over the other in the shape of an X.
Then she put one ear through the bottom of the X and pulled. Next, she
made each long ear into a loop and made another X like before. She put an
ear under that X and pulled again to make a bow. The bunny looked in the
mirror and saw his beautiful ears. This made the bunny laugh and he was
never sad again.
2. Encourage the children to follow along and try to tie their own shoelaces.
