Materials

Individual wash tubs with water Rocks, several for each child

Small brushes

Instructions

1. Set up the table with a selection of rocks, brushes and individual tubs of water.

2. Ask the children what happens to the rocks when they get wet (they look darker and may feel slippery, etc.).

3. Let the children scrub the rocks. The appearance of the rocks may change further as the children scrub off dirt.More to doCooking: Make "Stone Soup."
