1. To create a positive atmosphere in the classroom, help the children learn good responses to negative situations.

2. Using puppets, act out situations where one of the puppets "gets into trouble."For example:Puppet 1: She took my car.Teacher: How can we settle this?Puppet 2, 3, 4: (They offer suggestions.)orPuppet 1: He pushed me.Teacher: What happened and how could we have acted differently?Puppets 2, 3, 4: (They offer suggestions.)Teacher Tip: Speak positively and praise children when they are doing things correctly instead of calling attention to what they are doing incorrectly. Use a soft voice so they need to listen to hear you.
