Instructions

1. Show the children a portrait art print. Explain that a portrait is a picture of a
person that represents something special about him or her. Encourage them
to talk about it. Point out different features such as the hair, eyes, nose,
mouth, and ears.
2. Encourage the children to look into the mirror and see what they look like.
3. Ask them to draw a self-portrait and color it.
4. If desired, ask the children to draw pictures of a partner.
