Large piece of paper Textured fabric scraps

Miscellaneous collage materials Glue

Instructions

1. Cut out a large hand-shaped mural.

2. Give the children scraps of different textured materials to touch, such as fabrics, sandpaper,corrugated cardboard and cotton balls.

3. The children glue the different textures onto the hand. Discuss the sense of touch and askwhat the children think the pieces feel like.

4. Display the finished collage mural on the wall with a sign that says, "Please DO Touch!"More to doArt: Make individual hand collages to take home.Language: Write down the children's descriptive words as they touch textures.Math: Set out fabric squares to sort and match by texture.
