1. Give each child a musical instrument. If musical instruments are not available, use blocks, cans, or even sticks.2. Encourage the children to march around the room playing their instruments. Remind the children to listen because you will be giving them instructions.3. While the children are marching, give them various instructions. For example, ask them to march with their instruments behind their backs, over their heads, to the side, behind their legs, behind their backs, in front of them, and so on. Ask them to play their instruments as quietly as they can or as loud as they can, or to march without playing or play without marching.
