Materials

Pepperoni slices Grated pizza cheeses (cheddar, parmesan, provolone, mozzarella)Cooked ground beef Ham slices Canned mushrooms, drained

Pineapple Green peppers, chopped

Olives Anchovies

Paper plates Napkins

Poster board Marker

Instructions

1. Prepare pizza toppings beforehand or with the children.

2. Make a chart on poster board with every child's name on the left side. Make a space along the top of the poster board for each topping. Use a happy face for liked and a frown for disliked for each topping the children taste.

3. Distribute some of each of the toppings to each child.

4. Talk about the appearance, taste, smell and textures of the toppings as tasting occurs.

5. Record the responses on the poster board for each child and each topping. Which toppings were most popular? Least popular?More to doSnack: Prepare mini-pizzas for snack using 1/2 of an English muffin, pizza sauce, desired toppings and cheeses and bake in oven at 325 degrees F (160 degrees C) until cheese melts. * Prepare fruit pizzas. Spread cookie dough from a tube onto an ungreased pizza pan, cook according to directions,then cool 15 minutes. Put whipped topping on the cookie on the pizza pan. Then add desired canned, chopped or freshly sliced fruits and slice. One roll of cookie dough is enough for 16 children.
