Pita Pocket Food



Materials:

Variety of sandwich fixings, such as hot dog slices, sandwich meats, shredded
cheese, peanut butter, jelly, pieces of fruit, tomatoes, butter, ketchup, mustard,
and mayonnaise
Small bowls
Plastic spoons and knives
Pita pockets



Instructions:

1. Put the sandwich fixings into small bowls and put out plastic knives and
spoons.
2. Give each child half of a pita pocket.
3. Encourage the children to fill their pockets with whatever fixings they want.
4. Eat and enjoy.

Bulletin Board: Give each child a paper pocket to fill with pretend items. Ask
the children to talk about her “Pita Pocket.” Write down what the child says. This
makes a great bulletin board display.
