Instructions

1. Designate a week or two for parents and grandparents to come in and be
guest book readers.
2. Send home a letter explaining that you will have a schedule with times on it
that they can sign up for. Ask the parents or grandparents to choose a time
that would be good for both them and your class.
3. Ask them to bring in one or two books they like to read to their child or
grandchild. Let them know that you will also have some of the children's
favorite books available for them to read.
4. When the parent or grandparent comes in, encourage their child to introduce
them to the class.
5. At the end of the two weeks, ask the children to make thank-you pictures,
copy them, and send them to each parent or grandparent that read to the
class.
