A variety of herb plants, such as oregano, mint, and lemon balm
Instructions
1. Encourage the children to gently rub the leaves of each plant. Encourage them to name to each plant. They will probably identify the mint as "gum," the oregano as "pizza," and the lemon balm as "lemon."2. Transplant the plants into a corner of the playground. These plants require minimal care and will grow in almost any sunny location. They grow back year after year and the more you pick, the more they grow!More to doUse fresh or dried herbs. Children especially enjoy making "mint tea" by adding mint leaves to iced tea. Have a tea party and serve the "homemade" iced tea.
