Materials

poster board or tagboardscissorslaminator (optional)paper shopping bag or plain gift bag with handles

Instructions

1. Cut out one of each shape from poster board or tagboard. Laminate for durability, if desired.

2. Decorate a paper bag with colored shapes and write "Mystery Shape Bag" on the front, and put the shapes inside.

3. Gather the children and tell them that they are going to play a game. Show the mystery shape bag to the children.

4. Introduce the following song to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star":I have the mystery shape bag, look and see.Inside are some shapes for you and me,Which one will we pull out? Wait and see.Can you name this shape? One, two, three!5. On three, pull out one of the shapes and see if the children can name it.
