1. Gather the children together, and ask them to hold out all 10 of their fingers.

2. Recite the following poem, encouraging them to use their fingers to keep track of the diminishing number of spots.My Leopard Has 10 SpotsMy leopard has ten spots.I don't know how,I don't know where,But my leopard lost two spots somewhere.It's getting dark, it's getting late,To sleep he goes, with only eight.(Continue making up verses that diminish the number of spots on the leopard until he has none.)
