Instructions
1. Cut out pictures of objects that relate to your theme.
2. Glue each picture onto a piece of construction paper (8" x 10" is good, but
any size will do). It's a good idea to use larger paper for younger children.
3. Laminate the cards or cover them with clear contact paper to preserve them.
4. Clear a big space on the floor.
5. Place four cards face down, one in each corner of the space (see illustration).
6. Ask a child to select a card, turn it over, and say what is on the other side of
the card.
7. Take that card away.
8. Continue with other children, until all the cards are gone.
9. Put down another set of cards and start over again.
More to do
Extend this activity by adding more cards to the formation.
Gross Motor: Draw different motions on the cards and have the children
duplicate the motion.
Literacy: Make a story out of the cards. Put down cards that need to go in
sequence to tell a story, and when all the cards are off the floor, ask the children
to put them in the correct sequence.
