Instructions

1. Cut out cookie-size circles from brown construction paper.
2. Write the numerals 1 to 10 on 10 of the brown circles (one number per
circle). On the other 10 circles, put a different number of dots on each one (1
dot on the first, 2 on the second, and so on to 10) to look like chocolate
chips. Laminate or cover with clear contact paper.
3. Place the "cookies" with the "chips" on a cookie sheet with the dots facing
down so the children cannot see the chips. Place the other 10 "cookies" on a
plate with the numbers facing up. Put the cookie sheet and plate in the
bakery center.
4. Let the children take turns turning over one of the cookies on the cookie
sheet using the pancake turner. The child counts the number of chips and
looks for the matching number from the cookies on the plate.
