What to do
1. Over the course of 12 days, have each child make 12 pictures with markers on sheets of white
paper.
2. Have each child paint a cover for his calendar on a sheet of construction paper.
3. Give each child 12 calendar grids with the names of the months and days written at the tops,
and the numbers filled in.
4. Make the pages of the calendar by gluing one artwork to the top of each sheet of construction
paper, and one calendar grid to the bottom.
5. Place the cover sheet vertically, painted side down, on the table. Place all 12 of the artwork/
calendar pages, facing up, on top of the cover.
6. Fold this pile of pages in half, the short way.
7. Punch two holes very close to the edge at the closed end of the calendar.
8. Thread pieces of yarn through the holes, and tie bows at the top.
9. These calendars make nice holiday gifts.
