Instructions
1. If you use paper leaves, prepare them in advance. Also ahead of time, you should show pictures of various trees and identify their leaves. Let the children practice identifying various leaves.
2. Seat the children in a circle. Randomly choose a leaf, place it in the brown bag and close it up. Children should not see which leaf you choose.
3. Play music while the children pass the bag around the circle. When the music stops, the child with the bag takes out the leaf and identifies it.
4. Pick a new leaf to go in the bag. Play proceeds until each child has had at least one turn.More to doArt: Make a collage together from the leaves the children have collected.More science: Take a fall walk and encourage the children to pick up leaves, or bring leaves from home. Identify them. * Use silk or construction paper flowers to help the children learn to identify flowers.
