Instructions

1. This is a great activity to do when a child in your class will be moving soon. It will help the class and the child who will be moving to prepare for the transition.

2. Talk to the children about moving. Ask if any of them have moved to a new house or neighborhood. Explain that the child who is moving will be leaving soon.

3. Set up one dollhouse with the furniture on one side of the rug or play area.

4. Set up an empty dollhouse (or build one with boxes and blocks) in another area.

5. Encourage the children to pack the furniture into the truck and the family into the car.

6. Let them move everything to the empty house and set up the new household.

7. Allow time to play this over and over, as children desire.
