milk cartons of various sizes
pencil
ruler
scissors or knife (adult only)
contact paper
Instructions
1. Set up a sensory play area outside. Fill a small baby pool, water table, or
storage container with birdseed.
2. This activity is especially fun if you use a small baby pool because the
children can actually get inside with the birdseed!
3. Encourage the children to pour, sift, and so on.
4. Children think it's really funny that you don't have to sweep up the
spills!
5. When finished with the activity, leave the leftover birdseed out for the
birds to eat.
