What to do
1. Ahead of time, cut a small, medium, and large circle for each child from poster board.
2. Before you begin the project, read Snowballs to the children.
3. Have the children glue the circles together, forming a snow person.
4. Place the decorating supplies within reach and invite the children to glue an assortment of
objects on their snow person.
5. Lay the snow people flat until thoroughly dry.
More to do
Games: Cut a wide opening in a large piece of cardboard and prop the cardboard between
chairs; toss white Styrofoam or yarn balls through the opening. Paint a funny picture on the cardboard
target, if desired.
Outdoors: Catch snowflakes on a dark piece of fabric, then examine the flakes with a magnifying
glass.
Sand and water table: Bring snow indoors and play with it at the table while wearing mittens.
Ask the children to predict how long it will last.
