1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

cinnamon

vegetable peeler

sharp knife (adult only)

large saucepan

stove

Instructions

1. Place seeds, seed packets, and an egg carton on a tray for sorting.
2. Encourage the children to sort the seeds. They can sort seeds into
appropriate seed packet or line them up by size in the egg carton.
3. When finished sorting, plant the seeds with the children.
4. As the seeds grow into small plants, encourage the children to observe the
variety of leaves.
Note: If you plant the seeds in a two-liter plastic bottle with dirt and close the
lid, there will be little need for watering in the beginning.
