Smocks

Individual trays

Liquid starch Dish soap (Ivory works best)Glitter Bubble wands

Instructions

1. Arrange the trays on the table.

2. Pour some liquid starch onto each tray along with a squirt of dish soap.

3. Sprinkle in the glitter.

4. Give each child a tray and a bubble wand. They may scoop some of the mixture into their wands.

5. At first, the ingredients will be soupy and may splatter, but the mixture will thicken.More to doCooking: Make pudding for a snack. The children will see the powder stage, add milk and see the liquid stage, then chill it to see the solid stage.More science: A cornstarch goop table can be open at the same time, consisting of cornstarch and water. The children can distinguish between liquids and solids.Movement: Use a parachute to pretend the class is one giant bubble. The group stands around the parachute and shakes rapidly.
