1. At the beginning of the year, paint a 12"-long line on the cement outside your classroom door. Allow enough room for the door to open and you to stand. 2. When it's time to line up, ask the children to form a line behind the painted line. 3. Tell them that as they pass through the door, they "throw away" their outside voices and come inside quietly.
