Instructions

1. Display comic strips, old comic books, scissors, glue, and paper at the
storytelling learning center.
2. Let each child choose two to four comic strips or one comic book.
3. Ask the children to cut apart the different comic strips or cut out individual
pictures from the comic book. Keep any leftover pictures for other children
to use.
4. Encourage the children to rearrange the pictures into a new strip with three
or four frames. You may wish to prompt for logical sequencing as the
children are setting up their strips. For example, ask, "If this happened first,
what might happen next?" "What might happen before or after this part?"
"How is this new story silly?"
5. Ask the children to glue their new comic strip onto a piece of paper.
6. Let the children explain the new story to a friend or the whole group, if
desired.
