Instructions

1. Ask the children who wants to start the game by being Jack Frost and Jane Thaw. When twochildren have been chosen, give Jack a stocking cap to wear, and Jane a pair of sunglasses.

2. The other children run around the room trying to stay away from Jack Frost. If Jack Frost tagsthem, they must freeze until Jane Thaw tags them. When that happens, they melt and arefree to run again.

3. Stop the game after a little while and select different Jacks and Janes until everyone has hada turn.More to doGames: Have a Winter Warm-up Relay. Lay out piles of the following items in a row: hats,scarves, jackets, mittens (not gloves). Divide the class into two teams. Start the relay by havingthe first two in line run to the pile of hats and put one on, then put on the scarves, etc., untilthey are dressed. Have them reverse the process by taking those items off again and placingthem back in the piles. When they have finished, they run back to their teams and tag the next inline. Be sure to select large jackets and mittens for ease in dressing. Zipping or buttoning thejackets is not required.
