Instructions

1. Each week, select one child to be the king or queen. This is a great selfesteem
builder and it gives each child a chance to feel special.
2. Have the king or queen for the week make a "Me Poster" at home. Ask
families to help their child choose photos or draw pictures of family,
friends, pets, favorite foods, and events. Ask the child to bring in the
poster and share it with the class. Be sure to display the poster in the
room during the week.
3. Have a royal chair designated for the king or queen (glue imitation
jewels and sequins to a small chair). Let the child sit in the royal chair
and wear the royal garb during circle time that week.
4. Have one of the child's favorite foods for snack that week.
5. You may have other special tasks for the king or queen, such as greeter,
snack helper, and so on.
