Materials

One hula hoop per child

Instructions

1. Give each child a hula hoop. Encourage them to try to use it. Demonstrate how they should move their hips to keep the hula hoop from falling.

2. Have a hula hoop countdown. Everyone begins hula-hooping together. Count backwards from ten and try to keep hula-hooping until the countdown finishes.

3. Use the hula hoops with different types of music. Is one type of music easier to hula-hoop to than another? Chart the results.
