What to do
1. Invite the children to choose a holiday shape such as a bell, star, or tree. Cut two identical
shapes from contact paper for each child.
2. Have the children tear small pieces of tissue paper and place it on the adhesive side of one of
their shapes.
3. Help the children glue their picture in the center of the tissue paper.
4. Show the children how to press the adhesive side of the second shape onto the first shape.
5. When they finish, give each child a sheet of tissue paper.
6. Have the children dip a sponge into paint and briefly press it onto the paper. Encourage the
children to create a design using different sponges and colors.
7. While they are working, cut two pieces of magnetic tape and press them onto the back of their
photo holder.
8. When the paint is dry, ask the children to wrap their holiday frame in the hand-painted gift
paper.
