Instructions

What to do
1. Tell the children that they are going to make a board game.
2. Let the children name the game and discuss its rules. Some examples of holiday game ideas
are: "Let's Go Trick-or-Treating" (you could use Halloween candy as the playing pieces), "Help the
Turkeys Escape From the Farm," and "Help Santa Find His Way Home."
3. Have each child help draw squares on the poster board.
4. Have the children use markers to draw pictures related to the theme of the game on the board.
Let them apply stickers also.
5. Then, help them write directions on the squares, such as move forward two spaces, move back
one, or lose a turn.
6. Now, use a die, and have the children play the game with different colored beads or buttons as
game playing pieces.
