Instructions

1. Make a counting chart out of old Valentine cards.

2. Help the children cut out the hearts or the whole card and glue them on a large piece of tagboard. Write the numerals 1 through 10 on the tagboard across the top.

3. The children put one heart under the numeral 1, two under the numeral 2, and so on.

4. Choose a child to point to the chart as the other children identify the number of hearts and count them. This can also be one of the "helper" jobs each day.

5. Children can make a counting chart of their own with a heart stamp or heart stickers.
