Hot glue gun (adult only)

Plastic soda caps

Sponge shapes without handles

Instructions

1. Bring the above materials along when the children go outdoors to play.2. Help the children add to their imaginative play by making signs for the play yard. Children may want to label an area (for example, "Cinderella's Castle!" or "Danger! Alligator Pond"). Others might want to make signs to regulate tricycle traffic, such as "STOP" or "YIELD."3. Show the children how to punch holes into the signs and put pipe cleaners through the holes. Use the pipe cleaners to attach the signs to a fence or to playground equipment.More to do:Blocks: Help the children make small signs to add to their block play. Tape the signs to cardboard tubes or small blocks.
