brown, white, and black felt

scissors

glue

plush owl dolls (optional)

Instructions

* Halloween is celebrated on October 31st.
1. Before doing this activity, make felt owls. Cut out owl parts from brown,
white, and black felt (see illustration). Glue them to a felt owl. Make a few
of these.
2. Ask children to bring plush owls from home (if they have them).
3. Show the children pictures of owls.
4. Discuss how owls are nocturnal. Ask the children to name other
nocturnal animals.
5. Make a felt tree and hang it on a wall or bulletin board.
6. Ask each child to put a specific number of felt owls in the tree.
