What to do
1. This is a great center for children to get creative. For a few weeks, let the children pretend to have a garage sale in the center. Then ask them if they would like to have a real sale.
2. Prepare for the sale by asking parents to donate old items they no longer want or need. Help the children make price tags for each item.
3. On the day of the sale, set up the classroom with signs, tables, and a lemonade stand. Encourage parents to shop at the sale when they pick up the children. Invite parents of children in other classes, too.
4. After the sale, help the children count the money. With the money they earn from the sale, buy the group a special treat.
