Instructions

1. Cut out a variety of fish shapes from construction paper. If desired, you can
cut out pictures of real fish to use. Attach a paper clip on the back of each
fish with tape.
2. Tie string or twine to one end of a stick
and tie the other end of the string to a
magnet to make a fishing pole.
Make enough for the
children to share.
3. Place the fish in an
empty wading pool or
on a blue blanket.
4. Let children take turns
lowering the magnet on the
fishing pole into the pool to
"catch" fish.
5. Use this activity as a counting
activity, or if using pictures of real
fish, an identification activity.
